With this tremendously mild winter we’ve had, it was great to get outside for a little walk for this expectant couple. We just walked around the block of the studio and came back in. So nice to have such surroundings! They were up for absolutely anything and were so cute together. We definitely got a ton of variety, both playful as well as dramatic. I can’t wait to meet their little boy or girl in another month or so. How fun to have a surprise!
This is the last of this month’s national commercial work. LOL It makes me laugh because once we took off the diaper, the baby started stomping back and forth like Godzilla. Even when we were done shooting, stomp, stomp, stomp he went. LOL
It was my complete pleasure to meet this adorable 6 month old. She is just absolutely stinking adorable with that curly hair and two teeth. The couple had assumed she would sleep on their drive to see me, but of course like all stinkers, she didn’t, so when they arrived, she was very tired. We decided to start off on the bed, which every baby loves. She is a true daddy’s girl already and smiled for him easily. Seriously, I love bed shots.
And then she conked out. So what do you do with a sleeping 6 month old? Treat her like a newborn, of course! LOL
But the nap didn’t last long.
It is fun to show something a bit different (at least from my norm). When this lovely client mentioned that she had seen a maternity image with a woman in a black dress with a white background – I admit, I wasn’t feeling the love of it in my mind. When we decided to turn it into a silhouette, I immediately loved the dramatic shape of her. For me, I tend to like a little bit of light coming through to allow some details as opposed to a full silhouette. And her cute haircut totally added to lines of the image.
I can’t wait to meet the baby girl in a few more weeks!
Tis the season of babies. I’m seeing lots of maternity sessions, which then means newborns are also on the way. I had been looking forward to this particular maternity session, because I knew it would be memorable. When this lovely momma-to-be contacted me, she had some definite ideas of what she wanted and sent me links to ideas. What I gathered was that she really wanted images with her husband, but nothing “standard”. They wanted unique pictures with a playful feel. We talked before hand about all of the specifics and had so much fun. I can’t wait to see what we come up with for their newborn girl in another month.
