Fun Family | Chicago Child Photographer

You will probably recognize this group of triplets, as I had a blast photographing them not too long ago.  This time, mom and dad got in on the action.  The kids were non-stop fun the entire time, even though it was getting late and it was getting pretty darn cold.  To warm them up, I had them run sprints. LOL

And I couldn’t resist a bit of fun here:

Maita Family | Chicago – Naperville Children’s Photographer

The second mini session was for a family I had never met before, but I had photographed her sister’s family in May.  It seems cute boys run in the family!  I have to admit, these kids were soooo easy, which is a bit surprising since the older one is two.  And if you didn’t remember, I think two year olds tend to be some of the most difficult clients with their surging independence.   But this whole family was a breeze – and beautiful.

On side note, I remember thinking that this mom really didn’t look anything like her sister, but as I was editing (I get VERY close as I edit), I could see that they look incredibly alike!  Just different coloring.

Heartbreakers | Chicago Children’s Photographer

I think I met some future heartbreakers the other day with this family.  Not only are the children absolutely gorgeous, but they were the most lovely kids on the inside, too.  They each wanted pictures alone with each sibling and their mom and dad. It was obvious this family has something special.   I also got to visit the beautiful town of Bristol for the first time.

It’s clear where these kids get their good looks.

You never know how a child is going to be, even when it is a child you know well.  If this sweet girl looks familiar, it is because I photographed her baby twin siblings a couple months ago.  She is also the reason I am in this business at all – as her mom was the very first person outside my own family to ask me to take her child’s picture…three years ago when Sarsha was born.  My point being, Sarsha knows me well, but even so, she’s just turned three, and you just never know what is going to happen with that age.  While she was happy, she was having none of my direction, so we scrapped my ideas and let her lead.  It was obvious that the “typical” photo session was not going to result in anything good.  What did she want to do?

Bubbles and playground!!  We took a quick trip to the local LaGrange playground, and let her be herself.

Sarsha enjoyed some focused attention without the babies around for a change.

But we couldn’t let an opportunity pass without having a complete family picture.

All Boy | Chicago Children’s Photographer

This is the first family who has traveled to me in order to have a session with me.  I was humbled.  Found me on Facebook and became fans.  They traveled all the way from Norway!!  That’s right…well…sort of.  They traveled from Norway, Michigan in the UP.;)  But still, it was a six hour drive, and I was honored that they liked my work so much.  We had scheduled an early evening session, but unfortunately, little Nolan had fallen asleep in the car and had to be woken up when they pulled into the parking lot.  That did not start things off on a good foot with him.

He was tired and cranky and really didn’t want to have his pictures taken, but I’ve learned that even the grumpiest kids can’t resist throwing rocks from a bridge.  As long as I didn’t try to make him stand still and smile, he was good to go.  Isn’t he a gorgeous kid?  You would never know he just wanted to go home.

As we walked through the woods, he asked if there were any bears, because if there were, he was going to punch them.  LOL  What a boy!

And another reason for this session was that they had never had family portraits done.  I wanted to give them something special while still letting Nolan be himself.

Thank you so much for choosing me to photograph your beautiful family!
