Olivia | Carol Stream – Naperville Newborn Photographer, Naperville photographer

When I got the call from this client that she was pregnant, I was thrilled for them. I had met them last year when I photographed their special needs son, who has chromosome 18q syndrome. You can see some of that session HERE. They are such dedicated parents, and to learn they were having a baby girl just made my day. I wish for them nothing but happiness and peace.

Now on to baby Olivia. She was a tiny little thing, weighing under 7 pounds. She was soooo good for me while I worked with her. She pretty much only fussed when changing her diaper. I know I say it every single time, but I just love parent and newborn pictures. Just love.

Let me be the first to introduce you to baby Olivia.

For this next picture, I must thank Sean’s therapist for her assistance. This is actually a composite of several images. Due to Sean’s disability, I photographed them in small clusters, so that the therapist could help get Sean’s head up.

Sweet and Sassy | Chicago Naperville maternity photographer, Elmhurst maternity photographer

This was a very fun maternity session. We went the lighter route again and had a lot of fun. She was so bubbly, that it was easy to showcase her personality more through these. I feel the lighter background are a bit more upbeat and “dreamy” whereas my black background are more dramatic. When scheduling your maternity session with me, these are things to consider. Obviously both are artistic and beautiful.

It was also a great session because she is a cousin of a neighbor of mine, and they have the same gorgeous eyes. She is a beautiful momma-to-be. And as a back story – she shared that this is a honeymoon baby!

It was also nice to use some new fabrics. She looked great in the bright pink!

Imperfectly Perfect | Plainfield Naperville Children’s Photographer

I have tried and tried to get beautiful pictures of my own children and rarely succeeded. Until now.

It was time for my daughter’s three year outdoor session. I grabbed my husband and son to tag along (I always want good sibling pictures if I can manage it). I had spotted this field at the opposite end of the park I have been using for sessions lately and knew it would be perfect for a late session with gorgeous, golden light. I wanted a dreamy feel and the best light for outdoor sessions (when shooting natural light) is when the sun is low in the sky. We shot this at 7:00 pm. As a photographer, I have to be careful and get the sun behind the subject in order to get this mood. Otherwise, I get some harsh blowouts, which i did get in some, but I still love them, even with some of the technical imperfections.

These are the best brother/sister shots of my kids I have ever taken, and are definitely my new favorites. I will be blowing them up big to go up my stairway. If you are wanting a similar session, plan for late in the day.

Growing Family | Naperville Photographer, Naperville Maternity Photographer

I always like hearing how clients find me. Word of mouth? Internet? This woman had one of my Special Needs flyers from Easter Seals, where two of her girls receive services, and had been wanting to have me take pictures of her three beautiful daughters at some point. I’m so glad I was able to do these maternity pictures for her. We made sure to get some pictures of her and the girls, who were sweet and funny. This is probably the last picture she will have of just her and her girls.

After three girls, she is expecting a baby boy. Her pregnancy is almost to an end, and I hope she will be able to look back on these and remember how beautiful she was at this time.
