Mason | Chicago special needs photographer, Naperville baby photographer

I would like to introduce you to Mason.  He has such a special story to tell.  He was born with a deformed esophagus which wouldn’t allow him to swallow.  At only six months of age, he has had three surgeries.  Because of this, he has an nasal feeding tube.  While his esophagus is now well formed, his throat hasn’t learned how to successfully swallow yet, but it will.

Now, the mom of course wanted beautiful pictures of her sweet son.  She had waited at first in hopes the tube would be removed, but that day kept getting pushed back.  Every time she made an appointment for pictures, he ended up in the hospital.  So fast forward to a few weeks ago, she is in the grocery story, lamenting about never getting pictures, and a stranger says, “You know Firefly Nights Photography does a lot of work with special needs kids.”  And then she found me.  I don’t know who it was who directed her to me, but thank you!  This little guy is a gem!

Now the last part of this crazy tale is that they were moving the week after the session, so as we speak, they no longer live here, but have moved far away! I hate meeting a great new client only to lose them, but I will always remember them.

On to the introductions – everyone, meet Mason!

So the mom would love for her son not to have his ng tube, so  told her it was an option to edit it out.  I sent these to RetouchUp.com, and they did some amazing work!!

OMG! He is so precious! Who could even notice the breathing tube with those amazing sparkling blue eyes. I just wanted to reach through the screen and hug him! I love that you were able to give mom pics with and without the tube. Although someday, years from now when he’s grown and healthy she’s going to appreciate the natural beauty of this time in their lives and the obstacles that they have overcome. Meghan, once again, you have taken my breath away!

What a gorgeous baby! His eyes are amazing! To be honest, I didn’t even notice the tube at first. All I saw was those eyes. Lovely work as always!

Amazing eyes! What a cutie!

He is adorable. Tube or without.

Breathtaking! Great job capturing the subject and not the medical paraphenalia. The tube was really not noticeable, which is fitting since I’m sure his parents just see their beautiful sweet miracle, not his tube.
